Established in 2000, Al-Jazeera’s “In-Land” transportation business started in Kuwait under its subsidiary Al-Mailem Transportation Co. The company had a deeper vision to create an integrated transportation network  to serve Iraq, UAE, Jordan and Kuwait.

Building on that vision and its expertise in the Kuwaiti market, the company adopted a business model that is based on quality and flexibility, and expanded its business into Iraq, Dubai and Jordan. It also runs its own warehouses and Logistics center in Iraq under the name of “Al-Dyar Transportation Co.”. Today the company owns more than 70 Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks and is planning to expand to 100 units in 2010-2011.






ImageHotel Business
As part of its investment diversification policy, Al-Jazeera Trading currently owns more than 25% of AL-Rakaez PLC, a Jordanian public shareholding company specialized in hotel and real-estate development. Al-Rakaez PLC will launch its first hotel in Jordan under the name of “Quality Suites” based on the franchise name of “Choice” in the first half of 2010.

The Hotel will provide numeral services including touristic services, restaurants, banqueting halls, a grand conference hall, a swimming pool, a health club and private parking among other facilities. The hotel is to be ranked at “4-stars A” serving Business & Commercial Visitors, Holiday and Recreational Tourists, Conference Delegates, Expatriate Jordanians and those who demand value for money.
